For the UK market, Sony released their Z5 generation of Sony Xperia phones back in November 25, 2015. It’s been nearly three months since then and Sony finally released the latest flagship variant in the US market. February 7 is the date Sony Xperia Z5 has gone on sale in the US market, while the latest configuration hype is still alive. Not only the traditional Sony Xperia Z5 but also the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact and Sony Xperia Z5 Premium are going to make the market debut on Sunday, February 7, 2016.
All three variants of the Sony Xperia Z5 is powered by Snapdragon 810 CPU; there are two quad core chips – one is 1.5 GHz and another one is 2.0 GHz. The CPU is made by Qualcomm and latest power saving features and environments are built into this chip-set. Alongside the CPU, an Adreno 430 GPU delivers necessary amount of power to drive the graphical operations especially the 4K display output processes in the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium variant.
On the storage end, Sony Xperia Z5 series comes with 3 GB RAM in the Sony Xperia Z5 and Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, whereas the smaller Sony Xperia Z5 Compact gets a lesser 2 GB RAM chip. Unlike many of the modern flagship devices, these Sony Xperia smartphones are equipped with an external microSD card slot which takes up to 200 GB of memory modules.
The camera gets remarkable improvement. The rear camera sensor is now 23 megapixels with an f/2.0 aperture lens, and the focal distance according to the 35 mm format is 24 mm in this camera – that’s really wide. For landscape photography enthusiasts, the Sony Xperia Z5 could open up new horizon of opportunities. However, even though the zoom on this device is digital yet the picture quality is unharmed, thanks to latest Sony technologies.
Other connectivity features include NFS latest Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules, and NFC is a standard feature. Also, all these Sony devices are equipped with FM Radio. Like earlier Xperia flagships, the Sony Xperia Z5 is IP68 certified.
The Sony Xperia Z5 is available in the market through Amazon, Best Buy and B&H distribution channels. The base price starts at $499 for this device.
